Licensing the RITE Project
Verdant Power is currently in the process of applying for a license from the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) to commercially develop the RITE Project. This proposed development includes a 1 MW pilot project in the east channel of the East River (RITE East Channel Pilot) and a 2-4 MW pilot project in the west channel (RITE West Channel Pilot).

Project Updates
May 1, 2009 - FERC Concludes Pre-Filing Process and Approves Verdant Power's Process Plan and Schedule FERC has issued a public notice stating that it has concluded the pre-filing process related to Verdant Power's application for a commercial license and that the requisite regulations have been waived in order to allow for an expedited review of the application under the Hydrokinetic Pilot Project Licensing Process.
The next step in the application process is for Verdant Power to submit its Final License Application.
November 25, 2008 - Verdant Power Submits Draft License Application to FERC Verdant Power has filed its Draft License Application and request for waivers in order to apply for a commercial license for the RITE East Channel Pilot under FERC's Hydrokinetic Pilot Project Licensing Process.
